Since 2004, we have provided the tools that you need to explore and understand your world. H.M.S. Beagle stocks a wide variety of scientific and science-related goods, as well as select educational toys. Whatever your science interest, H.M.S. Beagle has a wealth of information available to you, and a knowledgable staff that can help to answer your questions.

At the retail store in Parkville, we carry telescopes and microscopes, chemistry sets and laboratory glassware, minerals and fossils, rocketry supplies, popular science and reference books, books for children, and much more.

In addition to our retail stocks, we also host a number of educational activities, including a regular Science Club meetings for students in kindgergarten through the eighth grade. We also host a number of events and workshops at the store, including October's Rocket Science Day, fossil leaf digs, monthly Star Parties (in season, April through October, weather permitting), and more!

Finding the Beagle

H.M.S. Beagle is located in historic downtown Parkville, Missouri at 180 English Landing Drive. We're just fifteen minutes from downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Here are some quick route descriptions:

• Downtown Kansas City & North Kansas City: Highway 169 to Highway 9 North, or Highway 9 North
• The Northland (Smithville, Gladstone): Highway 152 West to Interstate 29 South, then Highway 45 West to Highway 9 South
• Northeast KC Metro (Liberty, Pleasant Valley, Kearney): Interstate 35 South to Interstate 29 North, then Interstate 635 South to Highway 9 North
• Northwest KC Metro (St. Joseph, Platte City): Interstate 29 South to Highway 45 West (Northwest 64th Street), then Highway 9 South
• Leavenworth & Weston: Highway 45 South to Highway 45 East, then Highway 9 South
• East KC Metro (Independence, Grain Valley): Interstate 70 West to Downtown Kansas City, then as above
• South Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Grandview: Highway 71 North to Downtown Kansas City, then as above
• Johnson and Wyandotte Counties: Interstate 35 to Interstate 635 North, then Highway 9 North
