H.M.S. Beagle Science Club: Past Meetings

February, 2010: Explorations with a Microscope

This month, we talk about the microscope, how to use it, what we can see with it, and why it's such and important tool in the world of science.

Our topic for our February Science Club meetings is:
Exploring the World with Microscopes

No matter how good our eyesight may be, we still can not see many of the curious amazing things in our world. But by using a microscope, we can explore the wonderful world of the very small.

This month at Science Club, we will be exploring this world.

We will learn all about microscopes: how microscopes work, why we use microscopes, and what we can see and learn from looking through a microscope. We will use a digital microscope to view different objects and talk about what we are seeing.

Meeting Dates:

• 9:00 am, Saturday, February 13, 2010 (K-3rd Grade)
• 9:00 am, Saturday, February 20, 2010 (K-3rd Grade)
• 9:00 am, Thursday, Februrary 25, 2010 (mixed ages)
• 9:00 am, Saturday, February 27, 2010 (4th - 8th Grade)
