H.M.S. Beagle Science Club: Current Meeting

April, 2010: For the Birds

This month, we talk about birds that you can see in the metro area!

For the Birds!

Our topic for our April Science Club meetings is For the Birds!

At our Science Club meetings this month, we are excited to announce that the folks from Back Yard Bird Center will be helping us learn more about birds and bird-watching.

We will start inside and learn some basics about bird identification and bird-watching. We will then take a short walk outside and use what we have learned to look for and identify the birds in the woods around The Beagle.

Be sure to dress appropriately for our walk in the woods (it may be muddy so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and, if it is chilly, be sure to bring a jacket). Also, you are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen to record what you find and, if you have them, some binoculars.

Meeting Dates:

9:00 am, Saturday, April 10, 2010 (K-3rd Grade)

9:00 am, Saturday, April 17, 2010 (K-3rd Grade)

9:00 am, Thursday, April 22, 2010 (mixed ages)

9:00 am, Saturday, April 24, 2010 (4th - 8th Grade)
