At this month's Science Cloub meetings we will explore the science of archaeology. We will learn what archaeology is and what an archaeologist does. Plus we wil learn about the pre-historic peoples that lived in North America before the Europeans arrived.

Our guest presentor is Mr. Doug Shaver, a PhD student at UMKC. Mr. Shaver works for the Center for Archaeological Research at Missouri State and for a private archaeological company, Effigy Archaeology. He is the Vice President of the Kansas City Archaeological Society and on the Board of Trustees for the Missouri Archaeological Society. His primary focus of study is North American Archaeology and Native American Studies.
