H.M.S. Beagle Science Club: Current Meeting
February, 2012: Robotics
We will take a look at the exciting world of robotics. We will learn how robots have the potential to change our lives.
We will talk about what is and isn't considered a robot, how robots think about the things they do, and even how humans and robots are not that different.
We will also have a chance to discuss what robots should be able to do, and the limits of what robots can do. Come prepared with your questions!
David Dunalewicz, a current member of the Beagle staff, is robot enthusiast, cyborg, and former member of a First LEGO League Robotics team. He will present the discussion for this Science Club session. He hopes to join the firm of Rossum's Universal Robots following his glittering academic career's satisfactory conclusion.
Follow-Up Questions
We encourage members to bring a notebook and pen to record what they are learning at Science Club. We will be asking some simple questions about the January Chemistry Club at the February meetings.
Members who can answer the questions will receive special certificates.
